The River and Ocean Team

Sean Morley, Jared Licht and Rob Avery are friends and share the same passion for the sport of kayaking and a love of the outdoors.

Sean, a kayaker for over 30 years spent 14 of those as a police officer in the UK before moving to California in 2006. There he met Jared, son of the owner of Sea Trek Ocean Kayaking Center in Sausalito, CA. Sean founded River and Ocean LLC and is contracted by Valley Sea Kayaks, a UK based kayak manufacturer to import and distribute Valley kayaks on the west coast. In just one year Sean has quadrupled sales and developed a network of dealers up and down the west coast as well as diversifying the portfolio of companies he represents.

Jared, a kayaker since the age of 5 is currently the retail manager for Sea Trek and as such has gained a valuable ‘customer’s perspective’ of what it takes to be a successful sales representative. Based in the Bay Area of CA he spends much of his time in the Sierras both in the winter, snowboarding and skiing and in the summer whitewater boating. An ACA certified Surf Kayak Instructor Jared as represented the US West Coast team at two World Championships.

Rob Avery has been on the water since 1968; building kayaks with his Dad, racing K1, undertaking expeditions and coaching. After 25 years in the corporate world he now enjoys life as a freelance kayak coach, a guide, expedition paddler and owner-operator of Kayak Kraft based on Bainbridge Island, WA where he lives with his wife Kris. He is a certified BCU sea kayak coach, ACA coastal kayak instructor, Wilderness First Responder and Leave No Trace Trainer.
