Have you ever wondered why some kayakers seem to cruise so effortlessly? Are you always at the tail end of your group? Maybe you want to take part in a kayak, surf ski or adventure race? Former Great Britain international kayak racer Sean Morley will coach you in effective forward paddling technique, discuss various water-based and land-based training methods and formulate an individual training plan for you. Using video coaching and his experience of over thirty years of kayaking including several record-breaking expeditions, Sean will help you to maximise your efficiency on the water and thus allow you to enjoy your paddling even more.

Do you want to feel confident about tackling the conditions ‘outside of the Gate’ on the open coast? We will teach you how to paddle in the Gate’s infamous currents and the turbulent waters outside of the Bay. You’ll cover paddling in strong currents, the dynamics of eddies, rock-hopping and surf landings. We’ll discuss planning your paddle and essential aspects of safety including group and self-rescue techniques. This will be a high energy, adrenalin session so expect to get wet!
Location: Horseshoe Cove under the Golden Gate Bridge or as advised on the day.
Duration: minimum 2hrs.
Cost: $50 per hour or $200 per day.
Combat Recues Clinic

Have you ever wondered if the rescues you have learned on flat water or in the pool would really work in a real-life rescue scenario? Could you really rescue yourself in the type of conditions you are likely to encounter on the day you accidentally come out of your boat? Does your eskimo roll work when you really need it to?
This clinic is designed to investigate this and enable you to practice and refine your skills so that you know you have the skills you need for when you will really need them.
We will help you with your basics if you need it but more importantly we will encourage you to really test your skills in real conditions whilst keeping you safe and help you refine and define what really works for you.
We will also discuss risk assessment so that you avoid putting yourself and others in a rescue situation in the first place.
Location: Horseshoe Cove, Sausalito, under the Golden Gate Bridge or as advised on the day.
Duration: this is a full day’s course.
Cost: $200.
