WHO: This class is intended for Stand Up Paddlers who have experience paddling on flat protected water and looking to explore the California coast including small surf and tidal current. You should be capable of paddling up to 6 miles (with the assistance of tidal current).
This trip will be led by ACA L3 Coastal SUP Instructor Sean Morley.
WHAT: During a coastal journey of up to eight miles, we will look to exploit every opportunity to practice our skills and ‘play’. Much more than a guided trip, we will encourage you outside of your comfort zone a little so that you can advance your skills and experience whilst keeping you safe and having a lot of fun! We will cross Tomales Bay from Lawson’s Landing and explore the pristine shoreline of Tomales Point as we ride the ebb tide to the mouth of Tomales Bay. There we will find some small waves to ride and have lunch on a secluded beach. We will then ride the flood back to Lawson’s Landing.
WHEN: Meet at 10.00am. Be changed and ready by 10.30am. We will be off the water by 3.30pm latest and wrapped up by 4.00pm.
WHY: This course is intended to build your skills and confidence so that you can explore open water and protected coast independently with other paddlers of a similar skill level.
